From: John Gilbert Ottawa, September 15, 2013 September-15-13 I was
saddened to hear that Ed had passed away. He had been Officer in Charge at
the Ionosphere Station at the South Camp, Resolute Bay and, of course, was
one of those people featured in the famous 1955 National Geographic article.
Ed was well known in the Monitoring Service and at Radio Regulations
Headquarters in the years prior to his retirement around 1980. In more
recent years he had joined us on occasion at the coffee sessions of
meteorological and radio people who had been associated with the Joint
Arctic Weather Stations, of which Resolute was one. Our condolences on your
loss. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/guestbooks/ottawacitizen/guestbook.aspx?n=edward-leaver&pid=166825160&cid=full#sthash.0UJVPd1b.dpuf September-15-13 I was
