Above is an aerial photo of St. Paul Island where Earle worked around 1955. I don't have a photo of Earle. I met him a few times in the 1970s when he worked at the Eddy Point Marine Traffic Centre in Guysborough County and I worked as a Radio Inspector in Sydney, Nova Scotia. I made frequent visits to Eddy Point in order to investigate electrical interference to marine radio traffic. From what I remember, Earle was a fine gentleman and a great radio operator. We talked about St. Paul Island where he worked in 1955 and I told him about my desire to go there on a DXpedition. I came close to realizing my dream in 2005 when I joined a DXpedition to St. Paul island. Unfortunately a family issue came up a few days before departure and I had to remove myself from the team.
